A new report published on The Michael Report is clauming that Apple is likely to announce the 12-inch MacBook Air Retina at its March 9 ‘Spring Ahead’ event where it is expected to launch the Apple Watch formally.
The website claims to have been tipped by their sources about the MacBook Air 12-inch reveal at the event. As we have reported in the past, a number of Apple analysts such as KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo have been predicting that Apple will be announcing the new MacBook Air model in the first quarter of 2015. Apple supply chain sources have also confirmed that a new Apple MacBook model entered mass production in January this year, adding credence to the latest report.
Apple’s new MacBook Air Retina is believed to come with a redesigned chassis, Intel Core M Broadwell chipset, a new Touchpad without a mechanical button, and a few other design changes. The bezels will reportedly be a lot slimmer this time, as can be seen in the render image above.
Along with the 12-inch Retina MacBook Air, there is also a chance that we might see the updated MacBook Air 11 and 13-inch models with the new Intel Broadwell chipset.
