Preliminary specs of HTC One successor (HTC M8) leaked

Notorious leakster evleaks has revealed the preliminary specs of the HTC M8, the successor to the Taiwanese manufacturer’s 2013 flagship.

Since the word preliminary is used, it’s possible the final product will offer different specs, but for now the hardware on HTC’s next flagship – which is supposedly named One Two – seems completely unexciting and outdated. According to evleaks, the phone has a 5-inch 1080p display (0.3-inch larger than the HTC One’s), Snapdragon MSM8974 processor (which could be replaced by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 805 chip), 2GB of RAM, an UltraPixel rear camera (resolution unknown) and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac connectivity.

One ray of sunshine among the uninspired specs is that the device will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with a new iteration of HTC’s Sense UI (6.0). There are also rumors that the UltraPixel camera on the One Two will have two separate camera lenses for normal and low-light photography, but if the aforementioned hardware is what powers the device at launch, then it might be tough for HTC to rake up enough sales for what we can safely assume will be another beautifully designed smartphone, even with features like the dual lens camera.
