Plextor is going to announce the M8Pe NVMe equipped solid state drive at CES 2016 next week.
The M8Pe drive will utilize the PCI-E 3.0 x4 connector, with claims random 4K read speeds of up to 270 IOPS and write speeds of up to 150 IOPS. However, the drive is basically an M.2 module, which does help with lower operating temperatures as it allows for superior airflow.
Plextor hasn’t revealed anything else so far, but does say that the SSD will be the perfect choice for gamers and enthusiasts looking for a new ultra-fast SSD that has been optimized for gaming and other demanding tasks. It will also include features such as PlexTurbo RAM caching and PlexVault.
The company also plans to showcase its affordable M7V series SSDs at the event, which utilize TLC NAND flash derived from Toshiba.
