Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare announced, modern warfare for all ages

If you’re a Plants vs. Zombies addict and own (or considering buying an Xbox One) an Xbox 360, then PopCap’s parody of Modern Warfare in Plant vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be an interesting, fun, and probably good buy.

At today’s Electronic Arts E3 2013 press conference, Garden Warfare was shown off, and, needless to say, it sparked many chuckles and at the end gained an explosion of applause.  For those that played Plants vs. Zombies on their PCs and mobile devices, Garden Warfare will bring back all the craziness of having plants destroy zombies, but the twist is now the game is a third person shooter.

During the EA conference, PopCap showed off the game’s co-op mode in which four players took up different roles to defeat the invading zombies.  Like the classic PvZ game, Garden Warfare includes a variety of plants with different skills, strengths, and weaknesses.  For example, the pea shooter will continue to be its rapid-firing self, while the sun flower will serve as a medic and support for plants that are on the offensive.

The game’s goofy nature and direct ties the original game definitely has a lot of sentimental values to many people who have wasted enjoyed countless hours setting up their garden to prevent the zombie invasion.  Unfortunately, the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will only be available for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
