Panasonic announces Lumix FX78, TS3 and ZS series cameras

Panasonic has added three new models to its line of point-and-shoot digital cameras – Panasonic Lumix FX78, ZS series and the TS3 which claims to be waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, dustproof and can record video is Full high definition.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TS3 is designed for sports and adventurous users who want to capture high-quality photos and full high definition (HD) videos outdoor. The 12.1-megapixel camera incorporates a rugged design as well as a built-in GPS function, a compass, altimeter and barometer. On top of that, it is also waterproof to approximately 12m; shockproof to approximately 2m; freezeproof to -10 degrees Celsius; and is also dustproof.

The Panasonic LUMIX TS3 features a 28mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens, complete with a folded optics design. It also has an optical zoom of up to 4.6x, which works even while shooting video.

The DMC-ZS10 is the newest member of Panasonic LUMIX ZS-Series digital cameras which are known for their versatile lens from ultra wide-angle to long zoom. The 14.1-megapixel LUMIX ZS10 features a 24mm ultra-wide-angle and powerful 16x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens. It also offers full HD video recording capability, and a 3-inch Smart Touch Intelligent LCD that allows user to Touch Zoom, Touch Auto Focus (AF), Touch Shutter, and Touch Playback. 

The LUMIX ZS10 also features a built-in GPS function allowing geotagged images to be pinpointed via online maps and easily shared with friends and families.

The Panasonic LUMIX FX78 is designed with the new Smart Touch operation on its large 3.5-inch 16:9 aspect LCD, allowing for intuitive touch operation, including Touch AF, Touch Zoom, Touch Shutter, and Touch Playback. The 12.1-megapixel camera also incorporates a new LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMARIT, 24mm ultra-wide angle lens that has a 5x optical zoom with F2.5 aperture.On top of that, the camera features a Panasonic 3D Photo mode, which produces a 3D photo by taking 20 consecutive photos and overlaying the two best to create a 3D image that can be played on a Panasonic VIERA 3D HDTV.

The LUMIX TS3, FX78 and ZS10 will be available in March 2011. Pricing has yet to be announced.
