Rumors over the last few weeks have indicated that Nokia is hard at work on a 10.1-inch Windows RT tablet. Today, technology bloggerPaul Thurrott published what could be the first image of the tablet.
There are few concrete details regarding the tablet other than the fact that its codename at Nokia is Sirius. However, a series of leaks indicated that the tablet will feature a 10.1-inch full-HD screen, a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU by Qualcomm, 2 GB RAM and a 6.7MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The tablet will run Windows RT 8.1. From the leaked image, it does look like the tablet follows a similar styling as the rest of the Lumia series, and will be available in different color variations.
The tablet will allegedly cost $499. Nokia is holding an event on September 26th, at which the manufacturer will announce this tablet along with the Lumia 1520, a 6-inch phablet that also features high-end hardware.
While tablets on the Windows platform have not gotten any significant traction from mainstream audience, that might change soon as there are a slew of new tablets set to come out this fall.
