Nokia’s 10.1-inch Windows RT tablet codenamed Sirius, specifications leaked

Nokia’s Windows RT tablet is a reality whether people like it or not, and now, details on the specs of the device, codenamed Sirius, have surfaced online.

According to The Verge, Nokia’s Windows RT tablet will be a 10.1-inch device that closely resembles the design of Nokia’s Lumia phones, and will be thinner and lighter than the current iPad. It will also be priced similar to Apple’s tablet, though Nokia won’t be trying to undercut pricing initially.

The hardware on the Sirius will include a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 1080p display with improved outdoor readability; a 6-megapixel camera is reportedly present on the back, accompanied by a 2-megapixel camera at the front. Nokia is aiming for 10 hours of battery life with LTE connectivity, which will be a great feature if the company can pull it off, though still remains to be seen if the LTE variant is exclusive to Verizon or not. Nokia is also planning to ship a keyboard dock with the tablet, complete with a dedicated battery for longer usage times.

Again, while on paper Nokia’s upcoming tablet looks great, there’s still the question of whether people are looking for a tablet running on Windows RT, a platform many have written off as being incapable of sustaining Microsoft in the tablet market. The Finnish manufacturer will unveil its tablet at a launch event in New York on September 26th, and I guess post-launch is when we’ll find out whether it’s a success or a dud (like the Surface RT).

Any of you looking to pick one up?
