MSI Unveils 870A Hydra Mainboard

MSI has a new AM3 mainboard in the works. Based around the AMD 870 Northbridge chipset, MSI has added the Hydra GPU load balancing chipset onboard, allowing some pretty nifty configurations.

MSI has in-the-works a new AM3 mainboard designed for multi-GPU and mixed multi-GPU scenarios. Using Lucid’s load balancing solution, the 870A Hydra is able to form the basis of a multi-GPU setup combining PhysX and non-PhysX graphics accelerator together.

The mention of “Advanced Clock Calibration Support” would suggest that MSI has enabled CPU core unlocking for AMD CPUs. We’d however like to put our fingers that “OC_DRIVE” OC Dial.
