MSI starts shipping the Vortex, a VR-ready miniature tower gaming PC

MSI Vortex

MSI’s miniature gaming PC dubbed the ‘Vortex’ is now available.

The MSI Vortex is the world’s smallest gaming cylinder measuring just 10.5 inches tall. Despite its ridiculously compact size, the Vortex packs quite a punch in terms of hardware with an unlocked Intel Core i7 6700K processors, up to 64GB DDR4 memory, SSD storage with Super RAID 4, and not one but two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GPUs in SLI. Thunderbolt 3 is included as well, supporting ultra-high speed data transfers at 40 GB/s.

To ensure great cooling, the Vortex features the company’s 360° Silent Storm Cooling technology that creates a vortex-shaped wind path by capturing heat from the bottom of the unit and then circulating it upwards. The PC comes with a 450W 80 plus GOLD certified PSU that is more than capable of handling the hardware inside.

The VR-Ready miniature gaming PC has been priced at $2,199 in the US.
