Moto X will likely be launched on August 1st

An online design portfolio found on Behance indicates that Motorola might be about to launch the Moto X on August 1st.

San Francisco based design studio B.A. Bäkken is said to be working on the ad campaign for the Moto X. The image portfolio found on Behance indicates the date as August 1st, and although they don’t make any direct references to the Moto X, given that Motorola hasn’t got any other significant mobiles in the pipeline, we can safely assume that this might be the likely launch date for the Moto X.

The Moto X was finally confirmed by Dennis Woodside at the AllThingsD conference this year, and he announced that the handset would be made in the U.S. The Moto X is said to feature a 4.5 to 5-inch 720p display, a 1.7 GHz dual-core Krait processor, 16GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, 10 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front shooter. The device will also feature a bevy of very-low-power sensors.  Although said to be coming with Android 5.0, an August release suggest that it would either come with Android 4.2.2 or 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The design work for the Moto X launch signifies a reboot for Motorola as a brand as it looks to start a new beginning after its acquisition by Google. This is the ad pitch by B.A. Bäkken:

We’re not good at goodbyes. No one is. They’re hard. And sad. But the time has come. After nearly a century of innovation, we must say farewell. Farewell to the first handheld cell phone. To the Razr. To the game snake. Farewell to the Motorola that has shaped today.

It’s time to start building tomorrow. Change is afoot. New faces. New ideas. New technologies. The Motorola that returns will not be the company you once knew. But we have some work to do. So until we’re ready, we’re going away. No new ads or tweets. No site updates. Just silence until we begin the next chapter.

Until we meet again, goodbye Moto.

The same agency seems to have created another set of adverts, this time titled: Hello again.
