MacBook Pro Update Enables 3Gbps SATA Transfer

The newer batch of Apple’s MacBook Pros all have a standard issue if it is shipped with a standard SATA hard disk drive.

You get 1.5Gbps transfer rate only, despite having a SATA-II capable hard disk. The recent update, however, addresses that.

Don’t ask us why this 3.0Gbps transfer mode was disabled in MacBook Pro, it was enabled on those that came with SSD. The new MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.7 has a size of 3.35MB and requires OS X 10.5.7 to be installed.
