Lenovo Singapore unveils 3G version of K1 and ThinkPad Android tablets

Lenovo has announced the sleek and stylish 3G version of the IdeaPad Tablet K1 for consumers, and the ThinkPad Tablet for business professionals. Both the Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet K1 and ThinkPad Tablet are the Company’s first mobile internet devices to feature the Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system. In addition, Lenovo will be hosting its first Code-a-thon in Singapore on 16 to 17 September 2011, to challenge budding developers to build apps on the Android platform within 24 hours.

Lenovo IdeaPad K1
Weighing just 0.74 kg, the highly mobile IdeaPad K1 features a high definition (HD) display, dual cameras, and integrated Bluetooth and 802.11 Wi-Fi connectivity. It also incorporates a unique ‘Home’ button and Lenovo ‘Launch Zone’ application to help users access their most frequent functions easily including email, music and web browsing.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet
Sporting a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) display and weighing 0.75 kg, the ThinkPad Tablet features an IPS display for a 178-degree wide viewing angle and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. It claims to offer the security, reliability and manageability features ThinkPad is known for. Designed as a mobile computing device for professionals, the ThinkPad Tablet includes an optional digitizer pen, full-size USB port, full-size SD card slot, and mini-HDMI for connecting to external projectors and displays, as well as an optional ThinkPad quality Keyboard Folio Case with optical TrackPoint. 

The ThinkPad Tablet also comes with a suite of business partner solutions that include anti-theft software and the ability to disable the tablet if the device is lost or stolen with Computrace. Additional security features include virtual application support with Citrix, simple zero-touch deployment with LanDesk and secure email support available from Good Technology.
