Leadtek WinFast PX7800 GTX SLI Review

Leadtek chose to stick with the NVIDIA reference single slot
cooling solution as most card makers did except Gainward with their CoolFX
cooling solution. The shipping version of Leadtek WinFast PX7800 GTX card is
clocked at 430Mhz for the core and 1200Mhz for the 256MB onboard DDR3 memory and
by flashing the OC BIOS, the card is clocked up to 450/1250MHz. The card is set
at a suggested retail price of US$ 599 but it is available at a cheaper price in
the market.

The 7800 GTX core is manufactured in TSMC Taiwan on 0.11 micron
process but it is slightly different from the

reference core
. The markings on the die show that it is manufactured on Week
20 of Year 2005 with A2 stepping.

Leadtek equipped their 7800GTX cards with Samsung
K4J55323QF-GC16 GDDR3 memory. These memories are in 144 Ball FBGA package
located at the front and back of the card with 8Mx32 array. The K4J55323QF-GC16
has an effective data rate of 1200Mbps/pin.

The  Philips SAA7115 video decoder on the 7800GTX card is able to decode PAL,
SECAM and NTSC signals.
