Korean report claims Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will only be available with a curved display

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

Samsung will apparently not be launching a flat variant this year.

A report published by the Korea Herald claims Samsung is not planning to launch a flat screen version of the Galaxy Note 7 this year. The decision is in line with the company’s new strategy of aiming at profitability rather than going after market share.

While some users might be very disappointed by the news, we have to admit that the “edge” does look a lot cooler and comes with some added functionality as well. And on the Galaxy Note 7, users might also be able to write on the edges of the screen with the S-Pen.

The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to enter mass production next month and will be officially unveiled on August 2 at an event in New York City.
