Irrational Games announces new BioShock: Infinite ‘Clash in the Clouds’ DLC

Clash in the Clouds

Irrational Games’ Ken Levine was certainly excited about the debut of BioShock: Infinite’s very first DLC, and now gamers across the world get to dust off their skyhooks and jump back onto the rails for even more explosive action.

The new add-on is called Clash in the Clouds and features emphasis on the game’s enthralling and mayhem-inducing combat rather than a traditional story-based approach. In Clash in the Clouds, gamers square off against hordes of enemies like the fearsome Motorized Patriots or the devilish Firemen in arena-based firefights.

Armed with an expansive arsenal that includes just about every weapon in the game–from Triple-R Repeaters to Sniper Rifles and good old-fashioned Rocket Launchers–and an assortment of Vigors, players will be able to unleash their own distinct brand of havoc upon powerful foes and push their limits to the max.

“This first add-on pack puts an intense focus on BioShock Infinite combat. Combine weapons, Vigors, Gear, Tears and Sky-Lines in ways you never thought possible as you square off against impossible odds. This pack features 60 challenges in 4 brand-new maps.

Complete Blue Ribbon Challenges and unlock concept art, Voxophones, Kinetoscopes, and more in The Columbian Archeological Society.”

While many players may have been looking forward to a more substantial story-based DLC, the Clash in the Clouds looks to be quite enjoyable nonetheless. It will be interesting to see what crazy combinations of Vigors, weapons, and even Tears that players use to spell doom for the baddies of Columbia–and how quickly gamers dominate the leaderboards.

The DLC is included via BioShock: Infinite’s Season Pass, which offers access to all three DLC add-ons (when they are released) for a discounted price.

The Clash in the Clouds DLC for BioShock: Infinite is now available for $4.99 (800 MSP) via Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and Steam. For more information please visit the game’s official website.
