iPhone 5S and 5C pictured next to iPhone 5, pricing details leaked

Of all the leaks and rumors surrounding the iPhone 5S and the cheaper iPhone 5C, today’s leak is the most revealing yet – both the new iPhones have been pictured along the current flagship iPhone, giving us the first alleged look at the upcoming iPhones.

The phones in the images are dummy demo devices, but they do indicate Apple is leaving the screen size unchanged at 4-inches while making the dimensions a bit larger than the iPhone 5. That will disappoint anyone who has been vying for a larger screen, though we weren’t really expecting Apple to increase the screen size so soon after the iPhone 5.

According to PhoneArena, some of the specs of the 5S have also been confirmed once again, including a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, improved front-camera, fingerprint sensor that doubles as the home button, and NFC connectivity. The rumored gold color variant is supposedly real as well.

When it comes to the iPhone 5C, an interesting piece of titbit is KGI analyst Mingchi Kuo’s prediction that the iPhone 5C will be replacing the iPhone 5 instead of the iPhone 4S, marking the first time Apple won’t be offering its older iPhone at a discounted price after it is replaced by the newest iteration. The current flagship will reach end-of-life in Q3 2013, while the 4S will be kept in the lineup for emerging markets.

Oh, and if you thought the iPhone 5C would be cheap, then there’s negative news in that regard as well – according to Kuo, the iPhone 5C will cost anywhere between $400 and $500, while PhoneArena cites a source suggesting the price will be even higher at $555. If true, it reaffirms speculation that the iPhone 5C would be geared more at customization than at the low-cost segment of the market (not that we expected Apple to go really low on price in the first place).

As always, none of this is official unless Apple says so, though it’s not long before we’ll find out what Apple has been cooking up in Cupertino. While you wait, go ahead and check out the alleged photos of the iPhone 5S and 5C in the gallery below, and let us know what your take is on all this down in the comments.
