Intel Case Modding Competition

Intel is calling for all PC modders to enter what could be
Singapore’s first ever PC modding contest. The Intel Case Mod Competition aims
to find the most creative and professional custom-made PC in Singapore. Entrants
will have the opportunity to win the top prize of an Intel Pentium 4 Processor
supporting Hyper-threading* Extreme Edition at 3.2 Ghz CPU, a Intel 875P
motherboard plus $ 1,000 gift voucher. The second to 10th prizes consist of gift
vouchers (or prizes of similar value).

Entries for the Intel Case Mod Competition are now open and the top twenty
finalists will be showcased and judged at Sim Lim Square between Feb 20-22,
2004. The finalists will also be showcased online between Feb 11-21, 2004 for
online voting of the most popular. The Voters’ Choice Award winner will get an
Intel Pentium 4 Processor supporting Hyper-threading 3.2 Ghz CPU and one Intel
875P motherboard. Two other winners will receive gift voucher prizes.

To be eligible for the Intel Case Mod Competition , the PCs entered must be a
fully functional modified design, incorporate an Intel® Pentium® 4 processor and
be able to boot up. Representatives from Intel, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts,
National University of Singapore and the Singapore Science Centre will judge
entries on their creativity/originality (30%), technical difficulty (20%),
workmanship (20%), functionality & performance (20%), completeness (10%).

To participate, entrants must register online at
and provide a description of the project (ideally including concept sketches)
including unique features, the processor used and why a high-performance
processor enhances the value of the mod design. Registration closes Dec 31,
2003. The finalists will be chosen based on these initial proposals and
announced by Jan 10, 2004. They will then start actual construction of their
mods for submission by Feb 10, 2004. More information on the contest can be
found on the website.
