HTC plans to launch 3D smartphones in 2011

3D has existed for a long time, and with the advancement of technology, it has come to displays such as 3D TVs and projectors, laptops and cameras. And soon, 3D may be on your smartphone display too. At least one phone manufacturer plans to introduce it on their Android smartphone next year.

HTC plans to be ahead of the competition to launch their Android smartphones with 3D display. The company has achieved good success with the Google’s mobile operating system and the next focus could well be a 3D smartphone.

In fact, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, HTC has showcased their 3D smartphone device. The intention was to emphasize the ability of the smart phone’s chips, even though the phone wasn’t a finished product then. Two more months to the annual Mobile World Congress 2011, it is likely the company may try once more to enter the 3D smartphone market.

A HTC executive said that 3D Android smartphones could go on retail by end of next year.
