HTC One X to get Sense 5.0 with upcoming update, Zoe and Blinkfeed included

With earlier reports citing that the HTC One X would not be getting updated with some Sense 5.0 love, a developer tweeted otherwise. According to the tweet, the One X is set to receive the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update with Sense 5.0, complete with HTC Zoe and Blinkfeed.

HTC One X, the much neglected HTC flagship from 2012, will get the HTC One's Sense 5.0 UI, as well as HTC Zoe and Blinkfeed, in the impending Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

Developer LlabTooFeR tweeted that the One X should get the JB 4.2.2 update in the near future, but didn't mention any time line. It hasn't been confirmed whether the update will bring a new gallery with live reels, but the addition of HTC Zoe should definitely be accompanied with an updated gallery as well.

Another new feature will be the all exclusive Blinkfeed which is basically HTC's take on Flipboard, realised on the home screen. Also included is the new Sense 5.0 UI which is a far cleaner and optimized version of Sense compared to its previous versions.

In the past, HTC has been quite lazy when it comes to updating their phones (as can be seen with the HOX and HOX+). We sincerely hope that this trend doesn't continue with the HTC One, which is still stuck on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

Note: HOX here stands for the HTC One X.
