HTC M4 rumored to be out in June, Butterfly 2 following closely, One phablet coming in H2

The rumor mill has been churning quite a lot of stories starring several soon to be introduced HTC products, including a mini version of the One codenamed M4 and a “phablet” known as the T6 for the time being.

And while the two are not yet official, the rumors are piling up, so it shouldn’t be long now. At least as far as the M4 is concerned, which financial analyst Laura Chen of BNP Paribas Securities Taiwan Ltd. says should go up for sale as soon as next month (i.e. June).

I see no reason why we should doubt Laura Chen’s credibility, but naturally there are no guarantees until HTC decides to make the phone official, so you know the drill – pinch of salt, caution, patience.

Remember, the M4, if real, is likely to be marketed under the HTC One Mini moniker and come with a 4.3-inch 720p display, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage, UltraPixel camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and 1,700 mAh battery.

Moving away from this intriguing, but not exactly top-notch handheld, BNP’s analyst has it on good authority HTC will be also unveiling “an upgraded version of its large-screen Butterfly phone in the early third quarter”.

Early third quarter is a little vague, so let’s put it in layman’s terms – July. Which sounds a little fishy given the first-gen Butterfly was unveiled last December, with a Japanese J Butterfly preceding it in October and a Verizon-branded Droid DNA out in November. Fishy, but not impossible.

Now, do we know what will be Butterfly 2’s deal? Not exactly. But we assume it’ll look better than its predecessor, which is still darn sexy and zippy, sporting a Full HD 5-inch display and packing a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor under its hood.

Last, but not least, Chen mentioned a little something about a third phone HTC might have in the works. This is described as a “new flagship product with a larger screen size of up to 5.9 inches and an upgraded processor”, so it’s most definitely the One phablet (aka T6).

This big guy’s ETA is even vaguer than that of the second-gen Butterfly (the second half of 2013, which could be a month from now or six), but at least we can start the guessing game based on that “upgraded processor” claim. Who’s ready to bet it’s going to be Snapdragon 800?
