Gran Turismo 6 releasing on December 6th, movie official

Sony has announced at Gamescon that the next iteration in the Gran Turismo franchise, Gran Turismo 6, will be releasing worldwide on December 6th. Work is also underway on a full-length live-action Gran Turismo movie.

Gran Turismo 6 is officially releasing worldwide on December 6th, and will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 3. Amazon is giving 1 million in-game credits to all GT 6 pre-orders, while all pre-orders on Gamestop will automatically get upgraded to the 15th Anniversary Edition, which comes with 25 cars with custom Gran Turismo 15th anniversary livery and performance upgrades, custom paint chips, race suit, helmet, and a PSN avatar. The final artwork for the game has also been revealed.

Additionally, all pre-orders of the game will include a bonus pack of 5 cars, called the Precision Pack, which includes:

  • GT-R NISMO GT3 15th Anniversary Edition
  • Model S Signature Performance 15th Anniversary Edition
  • Viper GTS 15th Anniversary Edition
  • R8 LMS Ultra 15th Anniversary Edition
  • Corvette Stingray (C7) 15th Anniversary Edition

Polyphony Digital, the studio behind the game, has also announced that it is teaming up with major automotive manufacturers, design houses and brands from all over the world to come up with a host of concept cars.

GT 6 will come with concept designs from the likes of Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, JORDAN Brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT(Chrysler), Volkswagen and Zagato.  These concept designs will then be created into working models that users can drive in the game.

Polyphony Digital will release the cars as DLCs starting from the end of this year. The GT 6 movie is also underway, with Kazunori Yamauchi, head of Polyphony Digital assisting filmmakers Mike de Luca and Dana Brunetti. There is no news on when the movie will come out.
