GooPad Mini 7 is an iPad Mini clone running Android for cheap

After months of delay, GooPad has finally released their iPad Mini clone suitably dubbed the GooPad Mini 7.

Last year when Apple originally announced its iPad Mini tablet, Chinese manufacturer GooPad was quick to announce its clone of the same. Months later, the GooPad Mini 7 is finally on sale.

GooPad Mini 7 Specifications

  • Mediatek MT6589/MT8389 Chipset
  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7/A9
  • PowerVR SGX544 GPU
  • 1 GB Of RAM
  • 7 Inch WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) Display
  • Dimensions: 192.4 x 114 x 8.6 mm
  • 4,800 mAh Removable Battery
  • Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean

GooPad will be selling two different versions of their Mini 7 tablet. The cheaper Mini 7 Standard edition will have the MT6589 (ARM Cortex A7) chipset and support for a single SIM card only, while the higher end version (Mini 7 Plus) will come with a far more powerful MT8389 (ARM Cortex A9) chipset and an extra 4,800 mAh battery unit, as well as support for dual SIM cards.

The GooPad Mini 7 Standard version is now on sale for an affordable $190, while the more powerful Mini 7 Plus version commands a heftier but still palatable price tag of $240.
