AMD’s next-generation Steamroller-based Kaveri accelerated processing units will be rolling out to consumers in 2014, and Gigabyte is the first manufacturer to launch motherboards for these FM2+ socket APUs. The AMD APUs will come with native 8 GT/s PCI Express gen 3.0, DX11.1 and support for 4K displays on HDMI and DisplayPort.

Gigabyte’s A88X line will feature backward compatibility with existing FM2 socket APUs. The motherboards come with a lot of enhancements, along with features to Gigabyte like UEFI DualBIOS, Digital Power delivery, as well as Triple Display support. The G1.Sniper A88X will be targeted at gamers and features exclusive audio enhancements like AMP-Up Audio, which will give users more control over audio. The Taiwanese manufacturer is initially going to launch seven motherboards in the series, with four ATX boards and three micro-ATX boards.
