Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A leaked unboxing (13)

Qualcomm has brought out their biggest gun yet. The company’s new Snapdragon 800 chipset is fast, and power efficiency at the same time. A double strike, essentially. Within weeks of the official announcement, multiple devices based on the new S800 chipset are in the pipeline (to be launched within the next 3 months), with multiple devices already being officially announced. The new Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A variant is one of them.

The new Snapdragon 800 SoC, powered by four Krait 400 processors and the new Adreno 330 GPU, beat out the octa core Exynos 5 chipset in the international Galaxy S4. Qualcomm actually managed to design a CPU core far more power efficient and performance packed than the ARM Cortex A15.

Performance benchmarks:

Despite an increase in clock speed (to 2.3 GHz), the S800 SoC manages to hold its own when it comes to battery life and perform much like the Snapdragon 600 powered devices.

Battery benchmarks:

With multiple Snapdragon 800 powered devices like the Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Honami, LG Optimus G2, Nexus 5, Galaxy Note III and many others headed our way, these benchmark scores couldn’t have come at a better time to heighten our excitement.
