At its booth in Computex 2015, G.Skill showcased its new Phoenix Blade PCIe Gen 3.0 solid state drive.

The second-gen Phoenix Blade PCIe SSD drive uses the Phison PS5007-E7 controller. This controller was introduced by Phison earlier this year, aimed at the enterprise segment. It can support SSDs up to 2TB capacity.

The Phoenix Blade PCIe Gen 3.0 solid state drives offer incredible performance, with sequential read speeds up to 2,600 MB/sec and sequential write speeds up to 1,400 MB/sec. 4K random access performance is equally impressive. 4K random read speeds are claimed to be around 300,000 IOPS while writes go up to 200,000 IOPS. The drive uses Toshiba NAND and Nanya DRAM module.

G.Skill hasn’t revealed any pricing or availability info just yet. However, the company did say that the SSD will be priced competitively.
