Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific unveils STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC in Singapore


Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today launched their new STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC that is designed for business professionals. It is powered by 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor, runs Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and comes with an optional stylus pen for writing and drawing. The STYLISTIC Q550 is scheduled to be available next month.

Ivan Ong, associate director, South East Asia Operations, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific said that the company introduced the new STYLISTIC Q550 to meet the most stringent business requirements. 

"The STYLISTIC Q550 is an accumulation of twenty years of Fujitsu's tablet PC engineering expertise that offers features and capabilities that allow mobile workforce to be more productive anywhere, anytime. The slate PC can also integrate perfectly into existing IT infrastructure such that it can be deployed as easily as a notebook PC, offering a full suite of security features like the fingerprint sensor, smart card reader, full disk encryption and TPM (Trusted Platform Module)" Ong said.

Matthew Hardman, Windows Client Business Group Lead of Microsoft Singapore, was also at the event and talked about the slate devices for Windows 7 are designed to meet enterprise end user needs; they are optimized for online and offline data storage, support content creation and consumption and support variety of devices and peripherals.


Edmund Lim, product marketing manager, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific, did a product demonstration on the features of the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550. According to Lim, the non-3G version of the STYLISTIC Q550 will be available in early July in Asia Pacific (including Singapore), while the 3G model will be available end July. For Singapore, only selected stores will be selling the Q550 althought for consumers, it would be the model with the stylus pen. The suggested retail price for the STYLISTIC Q550 is S$1,788 (price varies according to customized specifications) and comes in Blue or Black.

The STYLISTIC Q550 features a 10.1-inch IPS WXGA anti-glare touchscreen display that boasts 400nits brightness and 500:1 contrast ratio. On its sides, you will find the USB, HDMI out, HDA out, port replicator, as well as power button and wireless switch.

At the rear are the 1.3-megapixel camera, fingerprint sensor and SDHC card slot. The Q550 comes with either 2- or 4-cell Lithium-ion battery that claims to offer a battery life of 4.5 hours and 9 hours respectively.

Fujitsu has also a wide range of accessories for use with the STYLISTIC Q550 including a nylon folio case, cradle, USB optical mouse, Bluetooth keyboard and external USB Super Multi Writer.
