Earlier this week, a VentureBeat report revealed the first press render of the upcoming Nokia 8 Android flagship smartphone, now a promotional marketing image of the smartphone was spotted on Nokia’s official Chinese website, suggesting that the device could be officially announced very soon, and though the image was taken down as soon as word got out, a Chine Baidu user was quick to save the screenshot you see here.
Even though Nokia Mobile’s parent company HMD Global hasn’t sent out any press invites yet, there is a possibility of the Nokia 8 bring announced later today (20th July 2017). Usually, official renders of devices bear the announcement date on the lock screen. In the Nokia 8’s case, we see the date 20/7 on the lock screen, which could possibly mean that the smartphone will be unveiled today in China.
The Nokia 8 is expected to sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD resolution display and run on Qualcomm’s latest octa-core Snapdragon 835 mobile chipset. Depending on the variant, the Nokia 8 will be available with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. There is even a possibility of a variant with a whopping 8GB of RAM. Rest of the handset’s rumored specs include a 13MP + 13MP dual-camera setup at the back, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, 64GB of built-in storage, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
