Fix for Late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro keyboard and trackpad issues released

Apple has finally released the fix for the keyboard and trackpad issues that were plaguing the late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro models, which were released last month.

Late last month, Apple Support Communities started filling up with threads that were started by users who were facing said issues. Complaints indicated that the keyboard and trackpad on both 13 and 15 inch models of the late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro were locking up randomly. At that time it was not known if the issue was related to a faulty hardware or a software glitch, Apple didn’t immediately respond to those complaints. However, a few days later, the company confirmed that it was working on a software fix which should take care of those issues.

Apple has now released the MacBook Pro Retina EFA Update V1.3, the update is recommended for the late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro. The release notes state that this update addresses an issue which may cause the built-in keyboard and trackpad to become unresponsive. The update has gone live now and is readily available for download from the Mac App Store.

Since the fix has been issued, there have been no further complaints about the issue persisting on the notebooks. So its safe to say that these keyboard and trackpad issues won’t be troubling anyone any more.
