Last month Nvidia launched its new GM107 silicon, known previously by the codename Maxwell, with the mid-range GTX 750 and GTX 750Ti. Now Nvidia is bringing GM107 to the laptop space with the GTX 860M.

According to a leak on Notebook Review’s forums, the GTX 860M has an identical setup to the GTX 750 Ti. It features 640 CUDA cores, 40 TMUs, 16 ROPs and 2GB of memory clocked at 5 GHz on a 128-bit wide GDDR5 interface.

During benchmark testing the GTX 860M had a score almost twice that of the GTX 660M. The chip’s 3D Mark 11 performance score clocked in at P5339 while its extreme score came in at X1662. In comparison the GTX 660M has a performance score of P2563 and an extreme score of X774.
