First generation HD-DVD / BluRay DVD players doesn’t copy at all!

It appears that the first generation of HD-DVD or BluRay DVD players would not have any capabilities of copying anything out from the DVD. The AACS-Interim standard that will put in place will deny any access of copying on these new generation DVD discs – not even managed / licensed copying. The word “Interim” had pretty speak for itself, as the finalized version of AACS standard will allow permitted / managed copying on these DVDs. The reason given by the AACS Licensing Association, is that “We expected the first early players to be basic players.” We’ll, it sure doesn’t pay to be early adoptors.
