FB-DIMM Prototype Design


Next year,
Intel architecture-based platforms

will be on FB-DIMM memory interconnect and FB-DIMM enabled DDR2 and DDR3 will be
supported then.
FB-DIMM transitions the
memory channel to a serial interface and replaces the DIMM register with a
memory buffer
therefore it features lower latency
at higher throughput and provide higher sustained throughput due to increased
number of channels.
