E3 billboard says Dark Souls 2 is releasing in March 2014

The hotly anticipated title Dark Souls 2 looks like it might have a release month, and that month is March of 2014.

With E3 just around the corner it’s time for videogame billboards to start popping up around the convention center in LA. One of these that was spotted was for Dark Souls 2, the next iteration of the much beloved Souls franchise. On that banner you can see the words March 2014 in the all familiar blood red coloring.

Polygon notes that the advertisement was first posted online on Twitter by user VaatiVidya and All games Beta. Regardless of who noticed it first, it’s nice to get a solid time-frame for the release of the title.  There isn’t really any other information and Namco hasn’t said anything officially, but we expect them to soon.

The game was originally announced at the end of 2012 during the Video Game Awards on Spike for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. There isn’t any word on whether or not the title will find its way onto next-generation consoles but with a release date that far off, there may be hope left. Either way, I’m sure hardcore gamers will remain excited until they can get their hands on it.
