DFI LAN Party UT ICFX3200-T2R/G – RD600 Motherboard Review

Aye, UV reactive connection slots, be it at the Memory slots or the PCI slots.
You see 3 PCIE slots, note that the first 2 slots are the slots to run AMD CrossFire
Multi-GPU setup on. Also note that this board supports an x8 x8 Dual PCIE configuration,
and not a x16 x16 Dual PCIE configuration.

First started by DFI, and now implemented by many motherboard makers, SATA
connectors facing the sides of the motherboard make cable management easier
and tidier. You’ve got 4 SATA connectors that way, and another 4 below the last
PCI and PCIE slots respectively.

A single IDE connector and the 24pin ATX power connector lies
on the top half of the motherboard.

A Diagnostic LED panel on the bottom left of the board for easy troubleshooting.
Also, if you’ve looked closely, you’ll see that there is a Floppy power connector
behind each of the PCIE slots 1 and 2, which are essentially for graphics cards.
This supposedly improves the current capacity delivered through the slots themselves.

The rear I/O panel consists of the PS2 ports, 2 S/PDIF RCA jacks (S/PDIF-in
and S/PDIF-out), the optional pulg-in Karajan audio module (6 audio jacks),
1 IEEE 1394 port, 2 RJ45 LAN ports, 6 USB 2.0/1.1 ports. Do note that the Karajan
audio module uses the RealTek ALC885 8CH sound decoder chip certified by Microsoft
as Windows Vista Premium Ready.

You see that the entire motherboard is passive-cooled, there
are no fans on the board at all.

This motherboard uses the ATI SB600 Southbridge. The small heatsink over the
tiny chipset is enough to cool it properly as it isn’t too hot at all.

A hard grey thermal compound is used as the thermal interface.
