Dell To Intro AMD Powered Server, PC & Notebooks

Dell plans to introduce computers powered by AMD microprocessors in a bid to boost market share in face of growing competition pressure. Dell has recently notified Taiwanese contract suppliers including Hon Hai Precision Industrial, Asustek Computer and Quanta Computer to use AMD processors in its computers. Dell has contracted Hon Hai to supply it servers, Asustek to supply motherboards and Quanta to supply notebook computers powered by AMD processors. Although Dell has not officially rolled out AMD-model computers, it promoted six AMD’s Athlon 64 processors on its website few days ago, raising speculations the promotions were a sign for its preparation for sales of AMD-powered computers.
