Creative ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook & Wireless Receiver

Our evaluation unit is an ExpressCard/34 and features a 3.5mm microphone input and headphone input jacks that are sufficient to connect to your audio devices. It also comes with “Connect” and Power status LED that lit up yellow and blue light respectively.

Bundled accessories include a quick start leaflet, software CD, earphones with integrated microphone, carrying case and the ExpressCard/54 adapter.

The software CD contains various Creative software such as Creative MediaSource 5, ALchemy X-Fi, Audio Control Panel and WaveStudio 7 that allows you to enable various sound effects and enhance audio, as wel as rip, manage and transfer your songs to your MP3 player.

The manufacturer provided an ExpressCard/54 adapter in case your notebook PC is using the larger version. Simply slide the card as shown in the picture above. But do note that after you inserted the card into the laptop slot, the head protrudes out quite a bit. Be extra careful not to knock on the side accidentally.

After you insert the card, just pop in the software install disc and follow the step-by-step instructions. When the installation is done (which takes approximately 10 minutes, depending on your system), the ExpressCard Sound Card X-Fi Notebook is ready for use.
