Counter-Strike: Source Benchmarked

As you’ve probably heard, the Source Engine is made to scale with a vast array of today’s computers and graphics cards. The minimum specs include a 1.2GHz CPU, 256MB of RAM, and a Direct X 7.0 compatible graphics card. In today’s article, we’ll be looking at NVIDIA and ATI’s flagship GPU’s so we’ll be turning up our video settings to the maximum.

Like Doom 3, Counter-Strike Source automatically detects "appropriate" for you when you load the game with a new graphics card. Usually with the high end cards we’re testing today, at least 4X AA and 8X AF was automatically enabled in the game.

Under the Advanced Video Settings Tab, you can select how detailed the game will be. We are testing all of our graphics cards with every setting on high.
