Corsair today announced the availability of its fastest SSD yet, the new Force Series MP500. These drives are available in the M.2 form factor and are claimed to deliver speeds up to five times faster than traditional SATA 6Gbps SSDs.
The Corsair Force Series MP500 drives come equipped with a Phison PS5007-E7 NVMe controller and support the high-bandwidth PCIe Gen.3 x4 2280 interface. As far as performance numbers go, Corsair claims the drives achieve maximum sequential read speeds of up to 3,000 MB/s and maximum sequential write speeds of up to 2,400 MB/s. Thanks to its blistering performance, the MP500 drives should be able to deliver faster boot times, game load times and file transfers when compared to traditional SATA 6Gbps SSDs.
The ultra-compact M.2 2280 form factor means you don’t require any data or power cables to install the drives. They can fitted directly onto the motherboard or even in compact laptops and small form factor systems where space is key.
To ensure data integrity and reliability, Corsair’s new MP500 SSDs feature Proprietary SmartECC, SmartRefresh and SmartFlush technologies that safeguard data against corruption in case of unexpected power loss or unsafe shutdown. All aspects of the drive’s health can easily be monitored by users with the CORSAIR SSD Tool box.
The Corsair Force Series MP500 drives are now available in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities. All drives carry an extensive 3-year warranty.
