Corsair HX850 PSU Review

The HX850 comes supplied inside a large, dark cardboard box with the classic black/blue theme of Corsair's HX series. The large, sturdy box ensures the protection of the product during transportation.

Inside the box, we found everything neatly packed and well secured. The power supply itself is wrapped inside both a nylon bag and a reusable synthetic pouch, as well as sandwiched between two thick Styrofoam pieces.

Corsair supplies a rather basic bundle with the HX850. The purchaser of this unit will receive a manual and a warranty guide, a metallic case sticker, four black mounting screws, a few small black cable ties and a standard A/C power cable. We believe that a few quality cable straps would make this bundle a little more complete; Corsair however currently does not supply cable straps bundled with any of their models.

As this is a modular model, Corsair also supplies a nylon bag with all of the modular cables included. Inside the bag we four six PCIe cables, one CPU 12V cable, two Molex to Floppy disk adaptors, three cables for up to 12 total SATA connectors and three cables for up to 12 total Molex connectors. Note that the power supply has only four plugs for the "blue" CPU and PCIe cables, meaning that the user is called to choose between either two 4+4 CPU 12V cables and five 6+2 PCIe cables or one 4+4 CPU 12V cable and six 6+2 PCIe cables!
