In this real world test we are recording the time taken for our OS to fully boot from when we press the power on button, as well as the start up times of two very popular and heavy professional applications, the Autodesk AutoCAD 2012 and the Mathworks Matlab. These tests present excellent examples of how an actual system would start and work under real-life circumstances.
As is the case with all caching solutions, during the first run the Corsair Accelerator does little to improve performance. Since no data has been cached yet, it is only natural that the system’s speed will fare no better than if the HDD was working all on its own. After a single run however, the data is stored inside the hot cache of the Accelerator and performance improves vastly, effectively halving all of the system’s startup times.
