Computex 07: NVIDIA Press Tour

Nothing much new was learnt, except that a refresh of the
680i SLI chipset is going to come before the year ends, but still on a DDR2
platform. However, a refresh can only mean new features, and better overclocking
capabilities. No doubt that the Chipset maker must be seeing green over the
600+MHz FSB attained so readily by Intel’s newest P35 chipset. So it will only
makes sense to assume the close-up on this area by the refresh will be made
aggressively. As for DDR3? Probably earliest in Quarter 1 of 2008 will we see
NVIDIA chipsets supporting DDR3, mainly due to expected market trend of
conversion to DDR3 among consumers.
