We’ve been seeing more and more Chinese laptops on the market, drawing inspiration from Apple’s Macbooks, and it appears that the Chuwi LapBook is a device that seems to follow that trend.
This 14.1 inch laptop is a rather large laptop with a white finish. Although the device has a plastic build, its most certainly of the more luxurious and posher type. It also holds a full-HD 1920 x 1080 resolution display for high-res image viewing and has a dimension of 32.92 x 22.05 x 2.05 cm. At 1.740 kg, the Chuwi LapBook isn’t a particularly light laptop, but you can’t expect ultrabook style portability at this super-low budget price.
Processor-wise, the LapBook has a decent Intel APOLLO LAKE N3450 chipset and Intel Graphics 500 graphics card, which should handle day-to-day work processes fairly decently. With 4GB of RAM, I don’t expect multi-tasking to be an issue on the laptop. However, those who intend to use it for gaming or for heavy video editing might not find it suitable.
However, where the Chuwi LapBook truly shines should be in terms of it’s stellar 9,000 battery life, which should give you a good 8-hours worth of juice on a single charge.
If you’re looking for a device that looks like the MacBook, but you don’t need quite the same amount of power and you want it for an incredibly low cost, do consider the Chuwi LapBook.
