Continuing in a line of stellar mirrorless systems in the EOS M series by Canon, the newly announced EOS M100 promises the speed, precision and interchangeable system of lenses of DSLR cameras while retaining the easy operability of a smartphone – all in a small and portable package.
With its DIGIC 7 image processor and sporting the ground-breaking Dual Pixel CMOS AF, the EOS M100 aims to add functionality and performance for beginners and lifestyle photographers whilst retaining familiar comforts especially through its 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD, with its tilt functionality coupled with a self-portrait mode replete with a Smooth Skin feature. It also sports a Creative Assist feature that conveys technical photographic jargon simply for beginners.
Canon has also announced a series of top-tier “L” lenses: an EF85mm f/1.4L IS USM that adds Image Stabilization to its 85mm prime lens line-up, and the multipurpose tilt-shift trio: TS-E50mm f/2.8L MACRO, the TS-E90mm f/2.8L MACRO and the TS-E135mm f/4L MACRO.
Canon is also introducing the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT, which is an external flash unit with dual flash heads, designed for macro photography applications.
Pricing and availability of the EOS M100 and the other products will be announced at a later date.
