Canon Singapore Launches 2 New PowerShot Cameras And SELPHY Printer

Today, Canon Singapore has announced two new PowerShot cameras, S95 and SX130 IS, and SELPHY CP800 compact printer. All three products are available from today at all authorized Canon dealers. Full news releases inside.

Singapore, 26 August 2010 – Canon Singapore, today, unveiled the latest addition to its range of compact photo printers: the SELPHY CP800. For even greater convenience the CP800 features a new tilt LCD screen and more connectivity options. It also incorporates a new Shuffle feature that allows multiple memories to be combined into a single print. With a slimmer design, the SELPHY CP800 is the must-have, petite portable printing device for lab-quality prints on the go.

Lab-quality prints in less than 60 seconds that last up to 100 years
The dye-sublimation system found in the SELPHY CP800 provides exceptional tonal gradation, giving finished prints the smooth, glossy look and feel produced by professional photo labs.  Prints are dry and ready for handling the second they leave the printer, and a special over-coating provides protection from spills and splashes, so they will remain rich and vivid for up to 100 years (when stored in an album).

Quick, fuss-free operation, anywhere
The SELPHY CP800 is designed to enable users to enjoy great quality prints in seconds – even if they’ve never used a photo printer before.  It features a simple user interface alongside a large-button layout and a tilting 2.5-inch colour LCD screen so that photos can be selected quickly and easily.  Once selected, postcard sized photos can be printed in just 47 seconds.

Photos can be printed directly from a range of compatible memory cards, or from any PictBridge-compatible device, such as a camera or camcorder.  The SELPHY CP800 can also print photos from USB flash drives or direct from mobile phones (with an optional Bluetooth adaptor), offering users instant output without the need for a computer.

The SELPHY CP800 also offers fully portable printing with an optional battery pack, so printing can take place on the move.  A security cable, such as a Kensington lock, can be attached to a new security slot on the printer body, allowing it to be easily secured if required.

Shuffle print, ID layout and SELPHY creative print features
Beyond basic photo printing, the SELPHY CP800 offers a range of additional layout options.  A Shuffle layout option arranges multiple images in an enjoyable and creative format, allowing users to experiment with the composition of their prints and create interesting collage-style pieces of art.

The ID Photo layout enables a selection of recognised ID Photo sized images to be printed on a single sheet of paper, and users can also add frames, speech bubbles, clip art and decorations to their prints with the creative print functions.

Clever image enhancement technologies
The SELPHY CP800 incorporates an enhanced Portrait Image Optimiser that detects faces in photos and automatically optimises contrast, brightness, backlighting and noise levels within the image. Auto Red-Eye Correction also automatically corrects the red-eye effect from flash photography.

To produce optimal results and beautiful-looking skin tones, the SELPHY CP800’s Smooth Skin effect enhances skin tones for more flattering portraits, and manual brightness adjustment can be applied to fine-tune the prints produced.

Pricing and availability
The Canon SELPHY CP800 is now available at all Canon authorised dealers at a recommended retail price of S$199.
