Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition confirmed, packs in season pass DLC’s & more

Borderlands 2 GOTY

Today Gearbox Software has confirmed that Borderlands 2 will be getting the “game of the year” treatment, packing in all of the season pass DLC’s and more into one convenient package to be released this October across all platforms.

The Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition packs in a wealth of vault-hunting adventures set in the game’s definitive witty and zany style, taking players through unforgettable journeys across Pandora with all four DLC packs and introducing both Gaige The Mechromancer and Krieg The Psycho in the process.

The GOTY Edition is valued at over $100 and includes the following content and bonuses:

  • Borderlands 2 Main Game
  • Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty DLC
  • Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage DLC
  • Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC
  • Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC
  • Creature Slaughter Dome
  • Premiere Club Content:
    • Gaige, the Mechromancer Character Class
    • Gearbox Gun Pack
    • Golden Key
    • Vault Hunter’s Relic
  • Krieg, the Psycho Character Class
  • Collector’s Edition Heads and Skins
  • Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1

“The success of Borderlands 2 has been tremendous, and the game is on-track to become the highest-selling title in the history of 2K,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “With the Game of the Year Edition releasing this fall, fans will have the opportunity to get their hands on the most comprehensive Borderlands 2 bundle at an incredible price.”

The newly announced package allows gamers to take part in the entire Borderlands 2 experience from start to finish, with each DLC adding in a variety of loot and goodies along with memorable (and decidedly insane) quests. The announcement also compliments the recent news of Borderlands 2 coming to the PS Vita in 2014 quite nicely, and next week’s level cap increase is an added bonus.

The Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition is slated to release on Oct. 8, 2013 across all platforms for $59.99. For more information please visit the game’s official website.
