BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

The Bold 9700 smartphone offers a QWERTY keyboard for use, though the layout is slightly different from the standard ones; on the 9700, the ‘Z’ key is below the ‘S’ instead of the ‘A’. Therefore, you might find yourself keying in the wrong alphabet at times, if you aren’t used to the keyboard.

RIM has replaced the trackball with a flat but sensitive trackpad for navigation. And at both sides of the trackpad are the Send (open the phone, call a highlighted phone number), Menu, Escape (move back to menu) and End/Power buttons.

On the right is the 3.5mm earphone jack, a micro USB port for charging the phone and data transfer, and a convenient key for accessing the voice dialing application.

The right of the Bold 9700 holds the camera/shutter and volume control keys.

At the top of the Bold 9700 are the Lock and Mute (play/pause a media file) touch-sensitive buttons on each side.

The 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash is at the rear. Opening up the rear cover, we found the 1500mAh battery. The SIM card slot is on the right while the microSD card slot is near the camera and LED flash.

Accessories include USB cable, earpiece, power adapter, SanDisk microSD card adapter, screen cleaner and a leather pouch.
