BIOSTAR has announced its very first custom-designed graphics card based on the Radeon RX 580. Dubbed the RX 580 8GB Dual Cooling, the card carries the model number VA5805RV82. If you’re building a new gaming PC and are more of an AMD fan, then the Radeon RX 580 is definitely a great alternative to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.
The BIOSTAR RX 580 8GB Dual Cooling uses a reference PCB design but a custom cooling solution from BIOSTAR. The cooling solution comprises of dual 80mm fans remain off at low loads, an aluminum heatsink, and a copper core.
In terms of specs, the graphics card includes a total of 2,304 stream processors, 144 texture mapping units, and 32 raster operation units. BIOSTAR has stuck with the reference 1257 MHz core and 1340 MHz boost clocks, while the 8GB of GDDR5 memory is clocked at 8.00 GHz. Power is drawn via a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. Display outputs on the card include 3x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.0, and 1x dual-link DVI. The card supports Radeon Freesync technology and happens to be AMD XConnect ready as well.
BIOSTAR hasn’t announced any specific details with regards to the card’s pricing or availability yet, but we do expect it to be priced slightly lower than custom RX 580 cards from more popular brands such Asus and MSI.
