Bethesda reveals new “Knife of Dunwall” DLC for Dishonored

Bethesda Softworks has recently announced Dishonored's new "Knife of Dunwall" DLC is coming April 16th, and will allow gamers to take the role of the lethal assassin who set the game's plot into motion.

Bethesda has just announced a brand new DLC for their award-winning stealth action game Dishonored is coming next month.

The Knife of Dunwall is a story-driven add-on, and will allow gamers to take the role of the mysterious assassin Daud who set the wheels of Dishonored's plot into motion by slaying Empress Jessamine Kaldwin.

"Those that have played Dishonored vividly can recall the actions of Daud – the legendary assassin that puts the game’s plot into motion. Beginning April 16th, you’ll return to this fateful moment and play the role of Daud in the story-driven add-on, The Knife of Dunwall."

The Knife of Dunwall will include a variety of new in-game features such as new powers and weapons and access to additional areas that were previously off-limits. Additionally, gamers will be able to tackle each objective the way they see fit–which has been a hallmark of Dishonored's stylish gameplay since its release. The Knife of Dunwall returns players to familiar key moments in the game with a new perspective, including Jessamine Kaldwin's fateful assassination.

Below you can find a summarized list of features included in The Knife of Dunwall:

  • New Powers, Weapons & Gadgets – Daud has been marked by the Outsider as well, and he has enhanced abilities like "Summon Assassin" which calls upon an ally to help in battle, "Void Gaze" which acts like Corvo's Heart and tracks down Bone Charms and Runes. Additionally, gamers can learn new variations to classic abilities such as Blink, and the inclusion of new gadgets and weapons like Chokedust–which dazes enemies–Stun Mines that are powered by whale oil to shock enemies, and a stylish Wristbow that fires the classic projectiles like sleep darts and explosive bolts.
  • Explore More of Dunwall – The Knife of Dunwall unlocks access to new areas such as the Legal District and Rothwild Slaughterhouse, along with familiar areas like the Flooded District which contains Daud's hidden home base.
  • Choose your Path – Gamers can retain their own distinct style with The Knife of Dunwall as they search for clues to Daud's personal enigmatic struggle. The DLC features a new standalone experience where gamers search for the truths behind the mystery of Delilah, which will conclude Daud's story in the upcoming final add-on "The Brigmore Witches".
As you can see above, Bethesda has hinted at Dishonored's next DLC "The Brigmore Witches" which will conclude Daud's mysterious, death-laden story. It will be interesting to see what new plot twists lie in store for gamers in The Knife of Dunwall, along with the impressive new array of weaponry such as the Wristbow and the new Summon Assassin ability.
The Knife of Dunwall DLC will be available on April 16, 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points). For more information please visit Bethesda's official website.
