ASUS ZenFone 4 series launches in Singapore

ASUS has released their latest dual-camera ZenFone 4 Android smartphones in Singapore, and they’re very affordable devices for mobile snappers and selfie fans, proving that you don’t need to purchase a premium mobile just to enjoy higher quality photography.

The 5.5-inch Zenfone4 is for the enthusiast photographer who wants a camera smartphone packed with more advanced manual camera settings. The front and back glass design packs a dual camera system with a 12-megapixel main camera utilising a Sony IMX362 imaging sensor with a large aperture f1.8 lens with an 83-degree field of view.  This sensor is backed up by Dual Pixel PDAF and 4-axis optical image stabilisation which promises fast auto focusing across a range of light conditions including low light and there’s RAW support, HDR, 9 photo filters and other modes. The secondary back camera is an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide angle camera while at the front there’s another 8-megapixel camera, this time front facing, for selfies.

With a 5.5-inch Full-HD touchscreen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage (microSD cards up to 2TB supported) the Zenfone 4 is a decent performer but thanks to its 3,300mAh battery capacity should enable you to keep snapping all day – plus it has a very versatile triple card slot so which can handle two nano-SIM and one microSD card or one nano-SIM and two MicroSD cards!

ZenFone 4 Selfie

Designed especially for selfie lovers, the ZenFone 4 Selfie features a front curved glass display with a premium metallic finish. The ZenFone 4 Selfie actually has two front mounted cameras – a 20-megapixel ‘main selfie’ camera with f.2.0 aperture, Softlight LED Flash and ASUS Selfiemaster technology for smart, live beautification for your selfie images, videos and even livestreams so you’ll always look your best. The second front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor and 120-degree super wide-angle lens to make capturing group images and background scenery much easier. For regular snaps, the ZenFone 4 Selfie has a 16-megapixel main camera with LED flash and Phase Detection Auto Focus.

Like the ZenFone 4, the ZenFone 4 Selfie has the same triple slots that lets you use up to two Nano SIM cards and a MicroSD card, or a single Nano SIM and two MicroSD cards, other specs reflect on the device’s affordability – a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD touchscreen and mid-tier Snapdragon 430 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, plus a 3,000mAh capacity battery.

ZenFone 4 Max Pro

ZenFone 4 Max and Zenfone 4 Max Pro

The very affordable ZenFone 4 Max and ZenFone 4 Max Pro combine dual camera utility with ultra long battery endurance for people who are often too busy to recharge their phones. Like the ZenFone 4 both devices feature premium finished bodies with contoured touchscreens, , dual Nano SIM slots plus a single MicroSD slot and 3GB of RAM with 32GB onboard storage. For main cameras both devices have a 16-megapixel main camera with electronic image stabilisation and a second 120-degree wide-angle camera, plus a 16-megapixel front camera with Beauty mode, HDR and GIF modes.

Where the devices differ is with their screen size, processor and battery capacity. The ZenFone 4 Max has a 5.2-inch HD screen, runs on a Snapdragon 425 processor with 4,100mAh battery that can delivery up to 31 hours of 3G talk time while the ZenFone 4 Max Pro has a 5.5-inch touchscreen, Snapdragon 430 processor and a huge 5,000mAh battery that will provide up to 40 hours of 3G talk time. Additionally, the ZenFone 4 Max Pro has a reverse charging ability so it can double as a power bank and charge your other devices!
