Asus working on a 4K monitor with 144 Hz refresh rate

ASUS monitor

At its Computex show floor, Asus showed off a prototype 27-inch 4K monitor with an impressive 144Hz refresh rate.

So far we haven’t seen any 4K monitor boast of such a high refresh rate, so the upcoming Asus monitor could well be the world’s first Ultra HD monitor with 144Hz refresh rate. The monitor will feature a 27-inch AHVA panel sourced from AU Optronics. For those of you who aren’t aware, AHVA (Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle) panels shouldn’t be confused with VA panels. They are instead more or less similar to IPS panels in most respects.

The monitor would also come with en ergonomically-designed stand with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment options. No word on rest of the specifications or whether it is going to support AMD’s FreeSync or NVIDIA’s G-Sync.
