Asus has launched its third TUF series motherboard based on the AMD 990FX chipset, the TUF Sabertooth 990FX R3.0. The motherboard drives ASUS TUF’s direct-etching concept forward by military-inspired digital pattern directly onto the board in gun-metal grey. To complement the unique look, the board features ASUS Aura RGB LED illumination with a wide range of presets and effects that can be customized based on your preference. Additionally, there are QLED indicators as well for five vital boot actions, inspired by an armored cockpit.
The motherboard includes all the modern connectivity features such as three USB 3.1 Type-A ports, a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port, a 20Gb/s M.2 slot for the latest NVMe PCIe SSDs, and eight USB 3.0 ports. Regular storage options include 5 SATA 6Gb/s ports, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10. Expansion slots on offer include 3 PCIe 2.0 x16, 1 PCIe 2.0 x16, and 2 PCIe 2.0 x1. The board features a TUF ENGINE! 10-phase VRM design with TUF components and is compatible with AMD FX-9000 series processors with a TDP of up to 220W. There are 4 DDR3 DIMM slots, supporting a maximum of up to 32GB DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC/Non-ECC Un-buffered memory.
